A teacher can always spend another year refining practice. A student doesn’t have the same luxury of learning time.
Some of you are spending way too much time on things that don’t really matter. In all seriousness, when unions continue to survey school employees and consistently find teachers are working at least 15 hours per week overtime, something is very wrong.
You’re paid to teach. To do what you love. Aren’t you?
Let’s be honest. If a 55-hour work week is your constant – which unions say it is – even though there are only 25 teaching hours in a week, you’ve got some serious changes to make.
So! Why not spend the next two weeks tracking your workday.
Catching what needs to change is the first step toward how we’ll make that change. So, start catching, then we’ve got something to work with.
Time to get back to doing what you love.
